Asymptote
Scroll infinitely close to infinity.
Asymptote is a browser-based minimalist artwork. When rendered, the whitespace itself creates the interactive (scrollable) area by always having a vertical length greater than the containing window. The viewer-participant’s drag of the scrollbar increases the length of this negative space that forever approaches infinity—forever failing to reach its destination. While the viewer may scroll infinitely closer to the bottom they will never arrive. Such is life.
Tested for MacOS in the latest versions of Safari, Chrome, Opera, and Firefox. Warning: Your browser may crash as you approach the asymptote.
