Automatically compose a message from yourself to someone else by leveraging the history of messages you’ve previously sent to that person. That was the basic premise behind my 2014 “Autocompose” patent. What began as a hacky marketing effort using jumbles of randomly assembled text snippets grew to leverage Yahoo’s own machine learning research and artificial intelligence acquisitions, resulting in the patent application that follows below. It’s yet another demonstration of my ability to quickly familiarize myself with the newest ingredients in the kitchen, and then cook up something delicious that no one’s conceived of before. This is how I’ve earned my reputation as an effective director of innovation teams.
