I’m excited to have joined the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) as an associate and judge for the Webby Awards this year. I’ve been a fan of the community for some time, having garnered various levels of Webby recognition for collaborations such as Dance Tonite (Google’s virtual reality dance experience for LCD Soundsystem), Chrome Racer and Roll It (mobile browser-based games), and for my Rubik’s Cube Explorer and associated works. Judging this year’s Webby entries feels like a rewarding way to give back to the community while also getting my hands on a jam-packed list of your latest and greatest creations.
Are you more of an independent / underground creator? Are pay-to-enter models and commercial audiences not quite the right context for sharing your art? Great! I want to know about those creations too. Hit me up on Mastodon (@stewartsmith) or Bluesky (stewartsmith.bsky.social). Feed me good links.
